Special Educational Needs
At Ashgrove Nursery School, we value every child as a unique individual. By building on the strong relationships already formed with parents, we strive to create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where each child can thrive and reach their full potential.
We understand that some children may require additional support, and we are committed to meeting the educational needs of all our pupils. Our team works in close partnership with professionals such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and physiotherapists to ensure tailored support is provided based on each child’s specific needs.
We place great importance on the early identification and assessment of special educational needs.
Our approach to supporting families includes:
- Establishing strong connections with families before children begin nursery.
- Collecting relevant information to ease the transition from home to school.
- Observing, monitoring, and assessing each child’s academic, social, and personal development to identify any areas where support may be needed.
The school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator is Mrs Nicola Cruickshank.
Identifying and addressing any additional needs as early as possible is a top priority for us.
We kindly ask that you share any known additional needs when applying to the school. This helps our staff plan effectively to meet every child’s needs and maintain high-quality care and education.
We value your input and encourage open communication. Our open-door policy ensures that you are actively involved in your child’s learning journey.
